IP Office R11 is Targeted for a May 1 Release

We’re all looking forward to the release of Avaya IP Office R11 with new software, Vantage basic, new phones, soft clients and Unified Communications via Equinox for IP Office. If you missed the introductory sessions, you can find out more and download the sales tool kit.

Avaya Equinox for IP Office and Equinox Meetings Online Training – Friday, April 27

This session will cover architecture (Equinox, Equinox Meeting Online) and design in greater detail. Equinox will now include Presence and IP Office directory. Zang Spaces and Equinox Meetings Online are the UC/Conferencing engines behind IP Office Equinox Support.

EOS ASBCE 6.3

Effective July 1, Avaya will no longer sell any ASBCE 6.3 software licenses or ASBCE 6.3 hardware products. This EOS covers System Expansion, New and Upgrade End of Sales for R6.x where previously announced and noted in the Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise R7.0. For convenience, reference the EOS notice for details and migration strategies, and all the codes impacted.

EOS G650 Gateway

Effective June 10, Avaya will end the sale of G650 Gateways. Avaya will make every effort to have a supply of these products available for orders, but cannot guarantee product availability through their EOS dates. Avaya reserves the right to manage and/or limit order quantities, substitute like materials, or to cancel orders if supply is exhausted prior to the EOS dates in this notice.

Migration Strategy: Avaya offers the G450 gateways as the comparable solution.

EOS AAC R8

Effective June 1, 2018 Avaya will no longer sell Avaya Aura Conferencing. Customers will still be able to purchase additional features and Right to Use (RTU) licenses through the Manufacturer Support period.

Migration Strategy: Avaya now offers Equinox Conferencing 9.1, which combines the best of Avaya Aura Conferencing and Scopia into a single going forward conferencing solution.

A1S Tools – Update to Configuring 96xx, 14xx and 16xx Multipacks

Avaya has set up a pending EOS of December 2018 for the 96xx multipacks, and as of April, they have been removed from the A1S design tools. You can still select multi-packs with Westcon’s IP Office Configuration tool without taking any additional steps for the 4 packs. The multipacks are still piece parts orderable. See additional details here.

New Quotes in A1S Configurator:

  • A1S Configurator will only quote the higher priced, single phones when quantities of desired phones are entered.
  • All users must manually piece part add the 4 packs of phones to all new system quotes in A1S Configurator.
  • The 4 packs of phones are scheduled to be EOS in December 2018.

For quotes created prior to April 9, 2018 in A1S Configurator that need to be modified or copied, users must:

  1. Remove the 4 packs from the existing quote
  2. Change the quantity of phones in the quote
  3. Piece part add the 4 packs of phones back into the quote in order to get the quote to Ready To Order (RTO) status

There is no change for existing or new quotes in Westcon IPO Configurator.

Pricing and Discounts on Avaya Quotes Have Changed

Avaya recently made changes to the output for specific columns on quotes done within A1S. Westcon has made the adjustments. Please note that you will now see the following:

Selling price 1 column is titled “BP Cost Less Discounts” and includes all discounts to the reseller (special bids, promotions and deal registration).

Selling price 2 column is titled “BP Standard Cost” and only shows your Westcon discount.

The Cloud Blitz promotion for free phones has been extended through September! And if you sell a five-year contract, you can get an Avaya 9611G for free! Any sale is eligible as long as for each 9608G, 9611G and J129 there is a Telephony or UC license contract with a minimum term of 36 months (60 months for 9611G).
