Flex System Enterprise Chassis
To meet today’s complex and ever-changing business demands, the Lenovo Flex System™ Enterprise Chassis provides a high-performance, integrated infrastructure platform that supports a mix of compute, stor-age, and networking capabilities. The Flex System Enterprise Chassis has been designed and built specifically to provide the efficiency you need now, along with the growth path necessary to protect your investment into the future.
Available on either your Lenovo PureFlex™ System or Lenovo Flex System, the solution scales easily using additional nodes or additional chassis. The 14-node, 10U chassis delivers high-speed performance complete with integrated servers, storage, and networking. And with Flex System Manager™, multiple chassis can be managed from a single console—reducing your administrative demands and costs.

Flex System x240 Node
The Lenovo® Flex System™ x240 Compute Node delivers powerful performance with Intel® Xeon® processors—up to a 50 percent performance boost over previous generation servers.1 This enables businesses to get more out of their compute environment. Features such as automated power management with onboard sensors give you more control over power and thermal levels across the system. These capabilities, combined with memory capacity up to 768 GB, help you get the most out of your compute environment.

Flex System x240 M5 Node
To meet today’s complex and ever-changing business demands, the Lenovo Flex System™ x240 compute node, an element of the Lenovo PureFlex™ System, is optimized for virtualization, performance and highly scalable I/O designed to run a wide variety of workloads. The Flex System x240 is available on either your PureFlex System or Flex System solution.

Flex System x440 Node
To meet today’s complex and ever-changing business demands, the Flex System™ x440 compute node is designed for mainstream virtualization, database deployments, and business process memory-intensive envir onments. The Flex System x440 compute node is a price-performance optimized 4- socket compute node with flexible I/O options to help you match system capabilities to workloads. With a dense design, the Flex System x440 compute node can help reduce floor space used, and lower data center power and cooling costs.
The Flex System x440 high-density , four- socket compute node is performance- tuned and features compute, memory and I/ O capacity to meet your needs. It is designed to deliver a combination of performance, built-in capabilities, and cost- effectiveness, featuring automated power management with onboard sensors to give you more control over power and thermal levels across the system. Combined with memory capacity up to 1.5 TB, the Flex System x440 compute node is designed to help you get the most out of your systems.

Flex System x6 Node
The Lenovo Flex System X6 Compute Node family, composed of the x880 X6, x480 X6, and x280 X6, are high-performance scalable compute nodes that are designed to take on the most demanding workloads. The performance, flexibility, and resiliency features enable the X6 to run mission-critical workloads, such as key business applications, database, analytics, and large virtual machine deployments.
Each compute node contains two Intel Xeon E7 processors. The x880 X6 uses E7-8800 v2 processors and supports joining two or four x880 compute nodes together to form a single 8-socket server with 192 DIMM slots. The x480 uses E7-4800 v2 processors and supports joining two x480 compute nodes together to form a single 4-socket server with 96 DIMM slots. The x280 has two E7-2800 v2 processors and 48 DIMM slots but does not offer scaling.

Expansion Nodes
Flex System Storage Expansion Node
The Flex System™ Storage Expansion Node is a storage enclosure that attaches to a single half-wide compute node to provide that compute node with additional direct-attach local storage. The Storage Expansion Node provide flexible storage to match capacity, performance, and reliability needs.
Flex System PCIe Expansion Node
The Lenovo Flex System™ PCIe Expansion Node provides the ability to attach additional PCI Express cards, such as High IOPS SSD adapters, fabric mezzanine cards, and next-generation graphics processing units (GPU), to supported Flex System compute nodes. This capability is ideal for many applications that require high performance I/O, special telecommunications network interfaces, or hardware acceleration using a PCI Express GPU card. The PCIe Expansion Node supports up to four PCIe adapters and two additional Flex System I/O expansion adapters.
