As I think about what inspires me, it’s hard to name just one person or experience. Personally, I’m inspired by my family that supports my goals and dreams, as well as friends who encourage and take risks of their own. Educationally, I’ve had multiple professors who impacted my decisions for study and what would become my post-college career path. Professionally, I’ve been inspired by peers, managers, directors, and CEOs. With each person and experience in life, I am inspired to be a better me and achieve something greater that I did the day before. It’s called inspiration, day by day. [Read more…]

Five Qualities of Leaders Who Inspire Me
This year’s SYNNEX North American Conference theme, “Inspire,” has challenged me to examine the qualities of people who are truly inspiring – leaders who live beyond themselves and who constantly inspire others and create positive change. Whether they stand on the world’s stage or are acquaintances of my own, I’ve noticed some common threads that have made them successful in being true inspiration-leaders.
What do Nelson Mandela, Ubuntu, and Internet.org have in common?
Ubuntu – an idea from the Southern African region which means literally “human-ness,” and is often translated as “humanity towards others,” but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.”
Deliver a Daily Dose of Inspiration
It’s so important, and often extremely effective, to remind ourselves to pause and RECEIVE a daily dose of inspiration. Watching the sun set. Reading a book. Admiring the creativity of an artist. Listening to raindrops on rooftops. These types of activities give us inner peace, motivation, drive, and ammunition to get things done with a positive impact. To switch things up, I’m going to reverse engineer this concept and share a few ideas on how we should strive to DELIVER a daily dose of inspiration.
- Offer praise and recognition for simple efforts and a job well done
- Say thank you – there can never be enough gratitude
- Smile – it really can keep others guessing, and asking “What gives?”
- Be a STAR – Someone They’ll Always Remember – stand out in a crowd
- Go beyond yourself – give of your time, treasure, and talents to others
- Listen intently, with a desire to encourage, take action, or assist
- Show off – not with an intent to brag, but rather to excite, celebrate, and spark interest
- Be a student in life – learn something new every day and share this knowledge with others
- Look people in the eye – be serious, authentic, transparent
- Send hand-written notes – it’s a lost art in today’s digital world
Sometimes the little things go such a long way in making a difference. If you simply take time to “stop and smell the roses,” it can inspire you to have a meaningful effect on those around you. Our 2014 Inspire Conferences and Summits in Greenville, SC, are upon us. So, what’s holding you back? Deliver a daily dose of inspiration for a change.

So What’s Up with the Inspirational Quotes?
“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu
The simple answer is that “Inspire” is the overarching theme of the 2014 SYNNEX Conference North America, Vendor Executive Summit, and New Age Electronics Retail Dealer Summit, so you’ll continue to see a lot of inspirational quotes throughout these events. But what does that really mean for our attending partners?
We purpose-build the SYNNEX Conference to enable our vendor and reseller partners to step outside of their typical roles, find avenues to transform their businesses, and stay ahead of the IT industry. So it’s fair to say that both inspiration and transformation are at the heart of the 2014 SYNNEX Conference North America.
Transform how? SYNNEX has designed the event to give both our vendor and reseller partners the chance to seize leadership opportunities and elevate the conversation. The status quo is an excellent place to leave your competition while you leverage new products and practices to ensure your business thrives. That is getting the most from SYNNEX Conference North America.
This is the time to step up, to become a catalyst by demonstrating the courage and vision to set the goals and commit to your path to success.
