Distributor New Age Electronics at International CES announced a major new partnership at International CES, adding the B&O Play brand from Bang & Olufsen. New Age is working with B&O to bring the products beyond B&O’s former strategy of selling only high-end merchandise in B&O retail outlets.
“New Age Electronics and B&O PLAY share strong synergies in delivering cutting-edge digital products that allow listeners to experience audio in a way that enhances the consumer lifestyle,” Fred Towns, President, New Age Electronics, said as part of the announcement.
“By combining the high-quality and stylish B&O PLAY products with our expansive reach and industry expertise across a range of solutions, we are well-equipped to provide an innovative and distinctive audio experience to retailers.”
In an interview we conducted Tuesday, Towns praised the “fashion, color and great sounds” of the B&O line. At the show, the B&O Play introduced the BeoPlay H8 on-ear headphones.
Also at CES, New Age announced the addition of several products in emerging categories, including 3Plus (wearables), Apira Science and Interaxon (home hTrealth), Centralite, Sercomm and Zmodo (home automation), Trackimo and Zubie (GPS/Bluetooth tracking) and GGMM, Rocki and SiliconDust (media distribution.)
New Age, Tuesday night, hosted a party at the MGM Grand, featuring the band the Goo Goo Dolls. Towns also announced that its dealer of the year is Walmart.com.
